Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski just can't help himself. In a very Gronk like move, the Bucs tight end was asked and addressed Julian Edelman's retirement in a way that only he can.

TMZ tracked down Gronkowski, who said there's a “69 percent chance” Edelman joins the Buccaneers. Of course, the number ties in with Gronkowski's humor and is not an actual percentage guess by the tight end.

Edelman seemed pretty set in his ways, announcing his retirement via a video release on Twitter.

The former Super Bowl MVP noted that the injuries had started to take a toll, and that he would go until the wheels fell off, of which they finally have.

Edelman appeared in only six games for the New England Patriots last year and had played a full 16-game slate only twice since 2014. The move although deflating to many, wasn't a massive surprise given Edelman's injury history.

Gronkowski went through something similar just two years ago, retiring from the Patriots while noting the injuries he had suffered throughout his career. His retirement lasted just 13 months before he came back and was ultimately moved to the Buccaneers to reunite with Tom Brady. So who knows? Maybe there's a potential reunion between Brady, Gronk and Edelman still in the cards. You'd be hard pressed to think that watching the retirement video from Edelman but, stranger things have happened.

Gronk seems convinced that Edelman isn't done, telling TMZ, “He'll be back. He'll be back, yea.”

Time will tell if Edelman stays to the course or opts to change his mind. There's always a 69% chance in Gronk's mind regardless.
