Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers received some good news Saturday after Leonard Fournette has been officially activated from the Injured Reserve list. However, his return also came with a price as the team had to waive Le'Veon Bell.

As Greg Auman of The Athletic noted, the Buccaneers had to cut Bell to make room for Fournette on the active roster. However, the move was not surprising at all since the team signed the veteran running back as replacement after Fournette went down with a hamstring injury in Week 15.

Now that their star running back is back, there's really no need for them to keep Bell.

Le'Veon Bell appeared in the Buccaneers' last three regular season games, albeit on a limited role and just a few touches. Overall, he had eight rushing attempts for 18 yards, as well as four receptions for 31 yards. Yes, that's just a total of 12 touches on the ball in three games.

The three-time Pro Bowler also did not play in the Buccaneers' win against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round, so the writing was on the wall for him after previous news that Leonard Fournette could make a comeback in the divisional round.

With these moves, Fournette's path to play against the Los Angeles Rams is now open. Hopefully though, his hamstring injury won't bother him as the Buccaneers look to return to the promised land.
