Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady shocked the NFL world when it was announced that he was retiring. On its face, it shouldn't have been surprising. After all, Tom Brady is 44 years old. He has accomplished more than anyone in the sports history, winning seven Super Bowls. He owns the majority of the NFL's passing records. Yet, we were all stunned.

Well, according to FOX Sports radio host and former NFL player Rich Ohrnberger, the reason Brady left Tampa Bay is not what everyone thought.

Ohrnberger reportedly heard from sources that Brady's relationship with head coach Bruce Arians had soured. He claimed that while Arians was rehabbing his achilles injury, Brady and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich would work on the week's game plan. Arians would then join them and undermine their work and build another plan for the upcoming game. That's oddly specific.

That would make a lot more sense as to the reason Brady would leave the Buccaneers. A lot had been made of the issues between Brady and Arians during the quarterbacks first season in Tampa Bay. Arians called out Brady publicly numerous times during his early-season struggles in 2020. But after winning the Super Bowl, all seemed forgotten.

Brady had openly expressed his desire to play in the 2022-2023 season throughout the season. That was part of why everyone was caught off guard when it was revealed that Brady was retiring.

It would also make sense as to why Brady has since states “never say never.” He has been linked to rumors of potentially coming back to play in San Francisco.

This likely is not the last of this story.
