Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht recently said he thinks Tom Brady could play until he's 50 years old if he wants to do it. What does Brady think about this?

Here's his answer to Jori Epstein of USA TODAY Sports:

ā€œ50? Thatā€™s a long time. Even for me, thatā€™s a long time,ā€ Tom BradyĀ told USA TODAY Sports by phone last week. ā€œIā€™ve always said 45 was the age that I wanted to reach and that was my goal. This year Iā€™ll be 44, so next year Iā€™ll be 45.Ā I got a two-year contract.

ā€œIā€™m going to be able to obviously play this year and God forbid anything happens but play next year and then see what happens after that. If I still want to keep playing, I might be able to do that. And if thatā€™s enough, then that would be enough.ā€

Tom Brady will turn 44 in August and just underwent knee surgery, and there were times last year where it looked like he was washed. Of course, he bounced back and ultimately led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl victory. While Tampa Bay's defense played a huge role, it's not like Brady was just along for the ride. The man put up huge numbers and is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, even at his advanced age.

Given how much of a health nut Brady is, would it actually surprise that many people if he did play until he was 50? There's probably some magic elixir in that TB12 stuff that will keep him going.

For now, Tom Brady will be looking to continue his domination into his mid-40s.
