After a rather quiet opening half in the Divisional Round matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints, Tom Brady got pretty much everything he wanted in the second half en route to the NFC Championship. Well, almost everything.
The 43-year-old QB was left hanging by one of the officials as he tried to give him a high-five after scoring his first and only rushing TD of the evening.
Props to Tom Brady though for trying.
Brady was his usual self on Sunday. He threw 199 yards for two passing TDs and capped his evening off with a big play to eventually seal the W for the Buccaneers. With the game hanging in the balance, Brady took full advantage of a Drew Brees mishap in the fourth quarter and converted on what ended up as a game-clinching TD. It was Brady who pulled off a QB sneak on a 2nd and goal situation to give Tampa Bay a commanding 29-20 lead with under five minutes to go in the game.
If only the official didn't leave Brady hanging, it would've been the perfect ending to his evening.
The six-time Super Bowl champ outdueled his QB counterpart in Brees. The Saints legendary QB played arguably his worst game of the season and it couldn't have come on the worst possible time. The 42-year-old Brees had three INTs on the evening and a passer rating of 38.1–both were season lows for him.
Next up for Brady and the Buccaneers are the Green Bay Packers, as they're set to face off at the Lambeau Field with the NFC title up for grabs.
