Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record for the most 30-10-5 games in franchise history on Sunday. Antetokounmpo tallied 36 points, 16 rebounds, and six assists in the Bucks' 108-100 come-from-behind win over the Portland Trail Blazers as The Greek Freak notched his 107th 30-10-5 game as a Buck, surpassing Abdul Jabbar's previous record of 106.
As great as Abdul-Jabbar was and as valuable as he was to this Bucks franchise when it first started out, Antetokounmpo has already surpassed the NBA legend as the greatest Buck ever. Sure, Abdul Jabbar won MVP and led the Bucks to a championship in just his second season with the team. But Antetokounmpo is responsible for bringing this franchise back to relevancy and won Milwaukee its first title in half a century.
Despite sputtering out of the gates, the Bucks are finally starting to figure things out. They have won seven of their last eight games after going 5-4 through the first three weeks of the regular season.
Sunday's performance also marked Antetokounmpo's fourth 30-10-5 game of the campaign. Giannis needed to dig deep for that one as the Bucks stormed back from down 26 points to get the win.
The two-time NBA MVP has been on a tear this year, especially during Milwaukee's recent hot streak. In this stretch, Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.1 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists, while shooting 61 percent from the field.
Damian Lillard has also picked it up offensively and is looking more like himself after a slow start to the season.
The Bucks will play their final In-Season Tournament game on Tuesday night against the Miami Heat, their tormentors from the playoffs this past season.
