Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo will reportedly win the 2020 Defensive Player of the Year Award, per Chris Haynes and Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports.
Giannis Antetokounmpo averaged 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals during the 2019-20 regular season. He helped the Bucks register the No. 1 defensive rating in the NBA as well (102.9).
Antetokounmpo now has the opportunity to join Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon as the only two players to win MVP and DPOY in the same season. Giannis is an MVP Finalist this season after averaging 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists and leading the Bucks to the best record in the NBA.
Antetokounmpo has been racking up award after award since entering the NBA in 2013. He's a four-time All-Star, the 2017 Most Improved Player of the Year, the 2019 MVP and now the 2020 DPOY.
Antetokounmpo could also add the 2020 MVP to that list as well.
