Bobby Portis is returning to the Milwaukee Bucks on a two-year, $9M deal. He was more than willing to run it back and help defend their title next season.

Multiple teams were expecting to sign Portis as the big man was one of the more effective players off the bench in the NBA this season, averaging 11.4 points and 7.1 rebounds during the regular season while shooting 52.3% from the field.

Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, Portis rejected two contenders in the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks who offered bigger deals than the Bucks. The forward ultimately chose the team that trusted him and gave him a chance as he bounced around the league for quite a while.

Portis further added that he wanted stability and happiness over everything. He also loved the culture and winning environment that the Bucks' organization have.

Portis was a crucial piece in the Bucks' championship, averaging 8.8 points and 5.0 rebounds during the postseason and giving them a boost off the bench against the Phoenix Suns. Portis scored 16 points during the title-clinching game six against the Suns.

The former Razorback understood his role, it involved scoring, rebounding, and hustling on every play, the big man played every possession like it was his last. His motor was never-ending as he energized his teammates on the court whenever they needed it.

Bobby Portis certainly has found a home with the Milwaukee Bucks.
