The Chicago Bulls are mired with injuries in their backcourt right now, with both Alex Caruso and Zach LaVine sidelined ahead of the All-Star break. Head coach Billy Donovan spoke to reporters on Wednesday and provided an optimistic outlook for both star players, detailing when he expects them to return to the hardwood.

Speaking on LaVine, via Jamal Collier, Donovan revealed the Bulls star guard visited a specialist in Los Angeles to examine his knee, stating that the visit went “very well.” Donovan went on to say he expects to have LaVine back after the All-Star break, which is great news for a Bulls team looking to fight for the top spot in the East.

LaVine has missed the Bulls' past two games while dealing with the knee injury, and has missed a total of four games in the month of February. He won't be taking the floor on Wednesday night against the Kings, either.

The two-time All-Star is averaging 24.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.9 3-pointers per game this season, having featured and started in 47 games.

As for Caruso, the Bulls' free-agent addition has been sidelined since suffering a fractured wrist on Jan. 21 after a controversial collision with Milwaukee Bucks sharpshooter Grayson Allen. Allen was suspended one game for his actions, while Caruso was forced to undergo surgery to repair his wrist.

Donovan revealed that Caruso is about a week or two away from progressing to shooting and dribbling exercises, per Collier. Caruso underwent surgery three weeks ago and had an estimated timeline of 4-6 weeks for recovery.

Caruso has featured in 28 games for the Bulls, averaging 8.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists off the bench.
