Despite losing to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, the Chicago Bulls still have something to cheer for after DeMar DeRozan had another big game.
DeRozan did his best to lead the Bulls to the win, albeit to no avail. However, he can still hold his head high as he gave the home fans a treat with his 40-point explosion on top of three rebounds and six assists. In the process, he joins Michael Jordan as the only players to have at least 20 35-point games in a season.
No other Bulls star has done it after His Airness last achieved it back in 1996-97, via ESPN Stats & Info.
DeMar DeRozan has 20 35-point games this season. He is the 2nd Bulls player to do that, joining Michael Jordan.

If that doesn't hype Bulls fans, nothing will. Anytime you're mentioned in the same sentence as Michael Jordan, you're definitely doing something right on the basketball court.
The fact that no other player in Chicago's long history has done it is also proof of how difficult it is to do. Scoring 35-plus or 40-plus points is one thing, but doing that in almost 24 percent of the season is simply ridiculous.
Of course the Bulls will be concerned about their loss to the Bucks. They can't seem to find a way to beat the top dogs in both conferences, which doesn't bode well for their playoff hopes. However as long as DeMar DeRozan continues to produce elite numbers–or Michael Jordan numbers whenever he can–then Chicago will always have a fighting chance.
