The Chicago Bulls have dropped four of their first five games of this season, including Friday night's 135-106 loss to the Charlotte Hornets. As a result, Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg is asking for more effort from his players.

The Bulls have been experimenting with different lineups through the early stages of this season, but Hoiberg says that's not an excuse for his team's recent performance.

“I know we’re throwing a lot of makeshift lineups out there, but I don’t care,” Hoiberg told K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune during Friday's post-game media availability. “It’s not an excuse to not bust your ass.”

Hornets point guard Kemba Walker was the root of Chicago's problems on Friday night. In his 26 minutes of playing time, the former UCONN stand-out racked up 30 points on 5-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc, seven assists, and sx rebounds.

“It just feels good when I'm shooting,” said Walker, who is shooting 3s at a career-best 45 percent clip. “I want to keep it up. I want to get them up. That's just the way the game is now. For us to win we have to get some threes up and make them at a high-percentage and I want to be the one to lead that.”

10 Bulls players saw action against the Hornets on Friday night. However, all of them finished on the wrong end of the plus/minus spectrum. Zach Lavine, who led Chicago in scoring with 20 points, four rebounds, and three assist, posted a -23 score.

Chicago's next shot at improvement comes on Saturday night, when they'll travel to Atlanta for a match-up against the Hawks. Tip-ff is set for 7:30 p.m. EST inside State Farm Arena.
