Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever take on the Atlanta Dream. Our WNBA odds series has our Fever Dream prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Fever Dream.
The narrative surrounding Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever has changed relatively quickly. A team which was at the bottom of the WNBA — alongside the Washington Mystics — three weeks ago has risen several spots and is in playoff contention. The Fever have won five of their last seven to catapult themselves into a playoff position. The Fever were not a good fourth-quarter team early in the season. They were not finishing games well early in the season. Those two tendencies have been turned around in recent weeks. The Fever have won numerous close games and have started to make big plays in the final two to three minutes of regulation. Caitlin Clark and her teammates have been through a very bumpy ride, but they have stuck with each other and have trusted the coaching they are receiving. Everything about the Fever looks and feels different now. The sense of dysfunction which seemed to dominate the landscape for this team in late May has been washed away.
The Atlanta Dream are one of the teams the Fever defeated in recent weeks. The Dream have gone through a very tough stretch in which they not only lost to the Fever, but also the Mystics. The Dream got blown out at home by Washington, giving the Mystics their first win of the season. In Atlanta’s most recent game, it fell apart at the offensive end of the floor. The Dream wasted one of their better defensive performances of 2024 by losing to the Minnesota Lynx, 68-55. The Dream held the Lynx to 35.5-percent shooting and limited Minnesota to just 12 points in the fourth quarter. Yet, the Dream scored just eight points in the fourth quarter and only 12 in the first. It was a missed opportunity to catch a good team (the Lynx) on a night when they were not at their best. The Dream need to find stability and consistency at both ends of the floor.

Why The Fever Could Cover The Spread
Caitlin Clark and her Indiana teammates are grinding out wins. The Fever aren’t dominating, but they are taking control of games in the fourth quarter and are not ceding the advantage once they attain it. This team is playing mature basketball — not brilliant or overwhelming, but poised and patient in crunch-time situations, exactly the opposite of the first weeks of the season. A team that went through a lot of adversity and which played a lot of games in a short period of time has benefited from increased rest time between games.
The Dream lost to the Fever a few weeks ago. Atlanta scored just 55 points in its most recent game. The Dream are a vulnerable opponent, and the Fever have done well to punish vulnerable opponents in recent weeks.
Why The Dream Could Cover The Spread
The Dream are playing good defense. Merely modest offensive improvements should put them in a position to win outright against Indiana as a slight underdog.
Final Fever-Dream Prediction & Pick
The lean here is to the Dream, but our official recommendation is to pass on this game. Indiana will probably cool off, but the Dream might not score enough to take advantage.
Final Fever-Dream Prediction & Pick: Dream +3 (-110)
