The Arizona Cardinals will have to wait a little longer before they can parade veteran cornerback Bashaud Breeland on the field. That's after Breeland reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 upon arrival in Arizona.

The #Cardinals flew in veteran CB Bashaud Breeland to sign with them Monday – but he tested positive for COVID-19 when he arrived, per source. Sounds like they’ll still sign Breeland once he’s cleared. Just another example of how COVID is affecting the NFL down the stretch.

The Cardinals need any help they can get at this point after losing their grip on the top spot of the NFC West division due to a three-game losing skid coupled with the resurgence of the Los Angeles Rams. But with Breeland testing positive, it becomes unclear when exactly will he make his debut in Cardinals threads.

The Cardinals have two games remaining in the regular season. They are scheduled to face the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington in Week 17 and the Seattle Seahawks at home in Week 18.

Breeland started the season with the Minnesota Vikings but got cut by the team shortly after engaging in a verbal spat with coaches and teammates. He brings experience to Arizona's secondary that has been thinned by injuries.
