Kevin Williamson, the mastermind behind the iconic “Scream” horror film series, has responded to recent comments made by Neve Campbell, one of the franchise's beloved stars, about feeling “undervalued” in her role as Sidney Prescott.
Neve Campbell, star of the “Scream” movie franchise, talked about how her pay was not enough for her from the beginning. Despite the horror franchise garnering her enough fame and declaring her as the reigning “scream queen,” she mentioned “the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise,” said the actress in an interview with Variety.
The decision stemmed from her claims that, because of her gender orientation, she was not given the amount she was due and therefore did not return to the latest addition to the franchise “Scream 6.”
In response to this, Kevin Williamson, the creator of the “Scream” franchise says “I know exactly where she’s coming from.” The writer said this when he guested on the “Happy Horror Time” podcast to make a few remarks that would have gotten Campbell to stay in the production of “Scream 6.”

Yes, you heard it, everyone. That’s what I would do. I would give her the money. I’m sure there’s a number they can agree on that will make them both happy so hopefully one day they will figure that all out, and who knows. One day,” said the writer on the latest episode of the podcast.
Neve Campbell has yet to respond to these comments but fans do hope that the scream queen does make a debut once more on the talked-about “Scream 7.”
