The world knows that Taylor Swift is a taken woman but it is not stopping this actor from shooting his shot at the singer. Outlander star Sam Heughan is counting that stars that he is able to land a special moment with Swift at her upcoming concert in Scotland.
“Welcome to Scotland Taylor,” Heughan captioned his post. “JAMMF is a Swiftie.”
In the video, Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser on Outlander, noted that the cast will be seeing Swift perform together.
“We’re gonna go see Taylor Swift play in Scotland,” Heughan says in a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday (June 5). “I think most of the cast is going.”
Heughan continued, “She obviously doesn’t know this, but when she comes to Scotland and she sees me in the audience, she’s gonna forget all about … him and fall for a man in a ginger wig. How could she resist? She’s gonna shake him off and take me out instead. I’m really excited.”
Swift is playing at Edinburgh’s Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium. The singer will be there for three nights beginning Friday, June 7. The actor hasn't said which one he will be attending with his castmates.
Fans React To Sam Heughan's Comment About Taylor Swift
Fans reacted to the post as they commented on the potential run-in between Heughan and Swift.
“Shoot your shot, Sam!” one fan wrote in the comment section.
“Outlander x taylor swift… my worlds collided,” another fan excitedly wrote.
“Well baby, now we got baaaad blood,” another fan wrote quoting Swift's song “Bad Blood.”
“Make her a friendship bracelet, Sam – I hear that works,” one fan wrote referring to Swift's now-boyfriend Travis Kelce making a friendship bracelet for her with his phone number on it last year.
Travis joked about the incident on his podcast New Heights which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce recalled. “So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her … with my number on it.”
While it didn't go exactly according to his plan, Swift thought the gesture was cute and it evidently started their love story.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift told TIME in her 2023 TIME Person of the Year profile, referring to Kelce's not-so-subtle shoutout about not being able to meet with her. We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for because we got to get to know each other.”
The two have been dating for several months now and back in January, a source told Entertainment Tonight that their family is very happy for them.
“They love being together no matter what they’re doing and appreciate the little things in life. They try to lead as normal lives as possible as a couple and are enjoying the upswing and growth in their relationship. They believe that timing is everything and that this is their time,” the source said. “Their families are both on board and everyone on Travis’ side loves Taylor and vice versa. It’s a supportive dynamic all around. Their loved ones have never seen either of them so happy and hope and believe that it will continue.”
