Charles Barkley has some competition for the “Who he play for?” contest on Inside the NBA. Returning veteran Greg Monroe was blissfully unaware of his own Minnesota Timberwolves teammate's existence even as he dropped 29 points in a win over the Boston Celtics.

That man was Jaylen Nowell. The veteran Monroe, a former Celtics player himself, was asked about his familiarity with his new team and his response was just hilariously honest.

Via Dane Moore:

Greg Monroe when asked if he knows who all of his teammates are: “Not gonna lie, Jaylen Nowell played awesome tonight, but I had no idea who that was.”

Greg Monroe and Boston Celtics fans alike will certainly remember Jaylen Nowell after Monday, as his 29 topped all scorers for the game, even namesake Jaylen Brown, who led the Cs with 26 of his own.

Both sides were heavily depleted as the NBA goes through a massive rise in suspected COVID-19 cases, forcing a huge chunk of rosters to enter health and safety protocols.

But while the Celtics played without superstar Jayson Tatum, they still had Brown, Al Horford and Robert Williams III from their original starting lineup. The Timberwolves were a skeleton crew without their star trio, but still managed to win the war of attrition in the end.
