Sunday’s game between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers is one of the most anticipated matchups this regular season, as it had a lot of subplots to it. It is the battle between two of the favorites in the Eastern Conference, and also a chance for the fans to see former teammates, Kyrie Irving and LeBron James share the court once again.

It did not take long for the two to go one-on-one as early in the game, the switches left James defending the five-time All-Star point guard. Irving had the upper hand in the sequence as he pulled off a nasty behind-the-back crossover on him before knocking down a fadeaway jumper which drew loud cheers from the Boston faithful inside TD Garden.

Thousands of fans on social media then gave their reactions after seeing the clip of it as they knew how good the move was. However, what caught the attention of many was seeing Isaiah Thomas like the video where the Cavs superstar forward was unable to stop Irving.

The now-Los Angeles Lakers point guard was traded by the Northeast Ohio team last Thursday despite making it known that he prefers to stay with them. That said, it’s quite understandable that he feels that he has a chip on his shoulders to prove to everyone that he is still an elite player in the league. He may also have extra motivation to do so to let James and the Cavaliers know that they made the wrong decision to part ways with him.

It will be quite interesting to see the Cavs and Lakers face off, which could have some bad blood in it, knowing that Thomas may see it as a “revenge game,” and could bring out the best in him against his former team. The good news is that the basketball community won’t need to wait long for it, as the teams are set to meet again on March 11, in what promises to be a must-watch for all fans around the world.
