It’ll be a special night for Kyrie Irving on Tuesday as he makes his Boston Celtics debut against his old team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. And what better way to play in a special game than to wear a special set of kicks?
The former Cavalier Irving will be sporting shamrock-emblazoned shoes that even glow green when he steps back on the floor at the Quicken Loans Arena. Here are some pictures of said shoes courtesy of Akron Beacon Journal columnist Marla Ridenour and Washington Post reporter Tim Bontemps.

As if Cavaliers fans who will be in attendance at the Q don’t have enough things to remind them of Irving’s complete 180-degree turn from hero to rival in a span of a few months, his shoes will be just another one to add to the list.
If Irving had those shoes made to give him good luck in his homecoming, someone might’ve forgotten to tell him that shamrocks aren’t quite the same as four-leaf clovers, which are considered the lucky charms.
Either way, there’s a chance a lucky fan will take those sweet sneakers home if Irving elects to keep up his preseason habit of handing off his game-worn shoes to a fan wearing his jersey.
