Within the span of just one week, Boston Celtics power forward Marcus Morris was ejected twice from a game. This time, it was for an altercation between him and Chicago Bulls power forward Bobby Portis late in the third quarter of Boston's 111-104 victory over Chicago on Friday.

After the game, Morris posted another tweet that has since been deleted in which he apologizes to the NBA. However, Celtics reporter Tom Westerholm of MassLive managed to get a screenshot of Morris' tweet before it was deleted.

On Saturday, Morris opened up about the ejection and thinks that he and Portis should not have been ejected for what happened.

Via an article written by Jared Weiss of USA TODAY Sports:

“Nothing really. I thought it was good competition,” Morris said. “He scored, he had a couple words, which was fine with me. At the end of the day, I felt like he kind of came in my space. I gave him a little push, I didn’t think it was anything that serious. The refs overreacted.”

Morris continued to maintain that the referees did not handle the situation properly and that both players were thrown out way too quickly over something insignificant.

“I just think it went too far as far as the referees,” Morris said. “Me and him were talking. At the end of the day, we’re grown men, and it’s the NBA. It’s not college, it’s not high school. If we’re having a conversation, we’re allowed to speak. We weren’t saying anything that was harmful or anything.”

It's hard to disagree with Morris here, to be honest. Both he and Portis should not have been thrown out, especially in a tie game late in the third quarter.
