The Los Angeles Chargers are in good spirits right now after winning two straight games and most recently taking down the New York Giants last weekend. However, they did receive some concerning news after the contest with star running back Austin Ekeler picking up an ankle injury.

The 26-year-old didn't practice earlier in the week but he participated in a limited capacity on Wednesday. That being said, the Chargers have listed him as questionable for Thursday night's clash with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Via Lindsey Thiry of ESPN:

This is definitely concerning for LA because Ekeler has played all 13 games this season and been a key piece of their offense on the ground and in the air. He's collecting nine rushing touchdowns on 730 yards, while also catching 58 passes for seven TD's.

In the running back room, the Chargers also have Larry Rountree and Justin Jackson available. The latter has actually played relatively well, rushing for an average of 5.3 yards per carry in 2021. However, against a Chiefs defense that allows the 26th worst number of passing yards per game, it could be wise for Justin Herbert to rely on his arm in Week 15 with Ekeler's status in question.

The Chargers are currently 8-5 and a win here versus their divisional rival would put them level with 9-5 records.
