Over his opening eight seasons in the NFL, new Los Angeles Chargers outside linebacker Khalil Mack did not get an opportunity to play alongside a pass rusher of the caliber of Joey Bosa. Even as he has not yet shared the field with him for a single official snap, Mack is already enjoying tagging along with the four-time Pro Bowler.

Speaking during a press conference at Chargers’ mandatory minicamp, Mack spoke about his early impressions of simply being on the same team as Bosa. Overall, the former Chicago Bears outside linebacker has been quite impressed with Bosa’s level of dedication to his play.

“He's a smart rusher,” Mack said. “He thinks about a lot of things. Sometimes, he probably gets too far in his head because he knows so much. He has so much knowledge about the game. It's going to be fun to kind of break down film together, watch each other and figure this thing out together.

“You can tell he has a real love for the game, and it's going to be fun playing with him, for sure.”

Bosa once again guided the Chargers’ front seven unit in the 2021 campaign, as he led the team in sacks (10.5) and quarterback hits (20). He also rose to the occasion in multiple crucial contests over the course of the campaign, which included recording a forced fumble and a sack in the Week 18 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Opposing offensive coordinators in the AFC West sure will have their eyes set on this pass-rushing duo in the upcoming season.
