The UFC Louisville Prelims are heating up and we're set to bring you another betting prediction and pick for the next bout, taking place in the Welterweight (170) Division. Charles Radtke of MMA Masters will battle against Brazil's own Carlos Prates. Check out our UFC odds series for our Radtke-Prates prediction and pick.

Charles Radtke (9-3) has gone a perfect 2-0 in the UFC thus far since 2023. He won his last fight against Gilbert Urbina with a left hook knockout in the first round. It marked the sixth-consecutive pro win for him and with his combination of striking and grappling, he could shape-up to be a problem within this division. Radtke stands 5'9″ with a 72-inch reach.

Carlos Prates (18-6) won his first UFC fight over Trevin Giles after earning a contract on DWCS. He's previously fought under ONE FC and LFA, finally making his UFC debut earlier this year. He burst onto the scene with a straight-left knockout and he'll be looking to replicate that same success against Radtke. Prates stands 6'1″ with a 78-inch reach.

Why Charles Radtke Will Win

Charles Radtke came in as a betting underdog in his UFC debut against Ultimate Fighter standout Gilbert Urbina. Radtke was supposedly outmatched in the striking department against the longer fighter, but he was able to work his way inside and land a devastating left hook to end the fight. He's not the cleanest striker and his technique is still coming along, but Radtke possesses the kind of knockout power and determination that just can't be taught.

This time around, he comes in as the bigger betting favorite and with the total rounds set where they're at, odds makers are expecting Radtke to be on the right side of a knockout. His ability to walk through shots worked against Urbina, but he'll have to be carefull about entering too quickly against a guy like Prates. Look for Radtke to deny the takedowns as he tries to turn this into an all-out war on the feet.

Why Carlos Prates Will Win

Carlos Prates had a similar surprise in his UFC debut when he knocked out an experienced UFC fighter in Trevin Giles. While Prates came in as the -220 betting favorite, he showed everyone why he has 13 of his 18 wins by way of knockout. The tests will only get increasingly difficult for Prates from here, so expect him to make leaps and bounds in terms of his development. His defense has never been a strong suit, but it's often overlapped by his ability to strike first and land the shots needed to end the fight quickly. His last eight fights have ended inside the distance, so expect this one to be no different.

Carlos Prates will have a small height and reach advantage during this fight, but it's his kicking game that could become the difference for him in this one. Prates does a great job of creating space for himself while using front kicks and head kicks at range, so he could benefit from using that length and popping Radtke with shots for a round. He'll need to be much more defensively sound than he has been as Radtke is arguably his hardest-hitting opponent.

Final Charles Radtke-Carlos Prates Prediction & Pick

This fight is guaranteed to be another barn burner and neither man is content with fighting towards a decision. Carlos Prates has only seen the distance in three of his 24 total fights and he's been on a reckless streak leading up to his UFC tenure. Charles Radtke is also a fearsome puncher and will have the power advantage during this one. We'll give the defensive edge to Radtke as he doesn't get hit nearly as much as his opponent here.

Carlos Prates will probably be the better grappler and submission artist, but Radtke is tough to bring down and doesn't plan on spending any time on the ground.

All in all, this fight will be a banger and it'll be a matter of which fighter can land first here. Prates is the longer guy, but Radtke has experience fighting taller guys given his own height and it's worked out well for him in the past. Still, the odds are a bit far for how close this fight could end up becoming on the feet.

For our prediction, we'll roll with Carlos Prates to get the win. This fight is very close and I believe the odds are a bit too wide for how volatile both men are as strikers. For the plus money, let's roll with Carlos Prates to get the win.
