The Kanas City Chiefs are gearing up to face the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. Although they are the favorite to win, having running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire healthy is important and something to monitor.

Edwards-Helaire, who is dealing with a shoulder issue, did not practice on Thursday. He missed seven games in the regular season, including the last two. Now, it seems like he'll miss the Chiefs' first-round playoff game.

Edwards-Helaire was limited in practice on Wednesday, per NFL.com, and head coach Andy Reid spoke positively about how he did. His status trending downward is a bad sign for the Chiefs. In 10 games this season, the 22-year-old rushed for 517 yards and four touchdowns, which ranked second on the team.

Although Damien Williams — the team's leading rusher — has proved to be an effective backfield partner for Patrick Mahomes, having both players available would be greatly beneficial for Kansas City. Having both running backs take turns rushing against the star-studded Steelers defensive line is surely the preference, as both of them are adept at picking up yards.

Kansas City would benefit from having Edwards-Helaire back but they can still march far into the playoffs without him. Mahomes and the passing games are the keys to their success. With no injuries to Travis Kelce or Tyreek Hill to speak of, the Chiefs should roll over the Steelers, who didn't even control their own playoff fates in Week 18.

With or without Edwards-Helaire, Mahomes won't underestimate Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers.
