After injuries to pass rushers Alex Okafor and Emmanuel Ogbah, the Kansas City Chiefs have gone out and picked up 17-year NFL veteran Terrell Suggs off of waivers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. With 138 total sacks throughout his career, Suggs is one of the best pass rushers in recent memory.

After spending his first 16 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens , Suggs signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals worth $7 million.

However, after 13 games with Arizona, the team announced on Friday that would be releasing the NFL veteran.

At 37 years old, Suggs is past his prime. However, the 6-foot-3, 265-pound linebacker still managed to record 5.5 sacks for the Cardinals this season.

After he was released, most thought that Suggs would rejoin his old team in Baltimore. But, with the injuries that Kansas City has suffered recently in the front seven, Suggs and the Chiefs seem like a natural fit.

Suggs last played against the Chiefs as a member of the Ravens in 2018. In the game, Suggs recorded four tackles, one tackle for loss and two QB hits in a 27-24 Chiefs victory.

Suggs will be going from a team near the bottom of the NFL in Arizona to a 10-4 Chiefs team that has won the AFC West for the fourth year in a row.

The linebacker's future outside of 2019 of this season but if Suggs were to return in 2020, he'd be one of the oldest active players in the NFL.

It is also uncertain how big of a role but with the Chicago Bears and the Los Angeles Chargers still left on the Chiefs schedule, fans should be able to get a good luck at their new addition.
