Patrick Mahomes has solidified his superstar status on the gridiron for the Kansas City Chiefs. And now he's beginning to evolve into a superstar off of the field. After signing his historic contract earlier this month, Mahomes is the latest person to grace the cover of GQ.

When the Chiefs took Mahomes with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, they were hoping to be taking the quarterback of their future. Little did they know they would be selecting one of the most transcendent athletes in sports history.

After sitting behind Alex Smith in his rookie campaign, Mahomes would be given the keys to Kansas City's offense in 2018. The Texas Tech product would proceed to throw for 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in his first full season as the starter.

Then, after winning the NFL's MVP award in 2018, Mahomes would set his sights on achieving his first Super Bowl victory in 2019. Mahomes would lead the Chiefs to the No. 2 seed in the AFC and would advance to the Super Bowl despite being down double digits in each of the team's postseason contests.

Similar to their other playoff bouts, Mahomes and the Chiefs would overcome a double-digit deficit versus the San Francisco 49ers. As a result, he would win his first Super Bowl at 24 years old in February.

To reward him for his efforts so far, the Chiefs signed Mahomes to a historic 10-year, $503 million contract this offseason. The gunslinging signal-caller is now the richest player in sports history, surpassing Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angeles. It appears that Mahomes is having himself quite the offseason, getting featured on his first GQ cover on Tuesday.
