After a slow start in the Motor City, the Kansas City Chiefs were the beneficiaries of a Kerryon Johnson mistake, with the Detroit Lions running back fumbling the rock, leading to a 99-yard recovery touchdown by cornerback Bashaud Breeland.

After some confusion at the goal line, Breeland and the Chiefs took off, sprinting in the other direction with the ball. Upon closer inspection, the second-year rushing stud Johnson did not cross the end zone with the football, dropping it and leading to the Kansas City recovery. A long wait ensued, leading to the official call for a Chiefs defensive touchdown.

It was a slow start against the Lions for the away Chiefs, who are arguably the best team in the NFL at the moment with a 3-0 record.

Initially down double digits to Detroit, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense brought the game back to a tie, with Breeland's touchdown on defense giving KC the lead.
