The Los Angeles Clippers are far from the little brother in the City of Angels anymore. They have become one of the favorites to win the Larry O'Brien Trophy at the end of the season with the incredible roster they have built up. However, they still play their home games at Staples Center, the same stadium that the Los Angeles Lakers call their home. This is why head coach Doc Rivers believes that their new home in Inglewood must be completed as soon as possible.

He talked with Los Angeles Times' Arash Markazi and stressed the importance for the team to have their own home in LA.

“The arena is a must,” Rivers said. “We’re the third tenant in our arena. … We have one stretch this season where we go on the road for five games, come back for one, and are back on the road for five. No one else does that. Just in that alone, we need the separation.”

Lakers fans have joked about the Clippers just renting space in their own home for years. The banners that the Lakers have hanging in the rafters have always been a source of taunting from Laker fans towards Clipper fans.

This is why it's important that they turn a new leaf and play in their new home. Some will consider them to have a slight edge over the Purple and Gold that they will definitely look to maximize this season. Moreover, with Kawhi Leonard leading the team, them winning a championship is no longer a distant dream.

Until then, they will have to share the same roof with their more accomplished neighbors.
