Kawhi Leonard is finally where he wants to be, playing in LA on the Los Angeles Clippers.

Last season, Leonard was on the Toronto Raptors after the San Antonio Spurs traded him. Everyone in the league knew Leonard wanted the Spurs to trade him to the Lakers or Clippers. There was even a report from Yahoo Sports which said Leonard had no interest in playing for the Raptors once the trade went through.

However, Leonard shut down those rumors on Saturday, saying he went into Toronto with an open mindset.

“I never went in with a negative mindset,” Leonard said, via ClutchPoints' Tomer Azarly. “Playing with Cory Joseph in San Antonio, him being from that area in Toronto, I knew what the city kind of brought, just going out there and playing games, hanging out with him and his friends and him taking me and showing me the city.

“I always felt positive with the trade and the front office I knew it was great already with Masai being in there. So it was never a negative thing, always open-minded about it.”

Leonard had a magical year with the Raptors. He guided the franchise to its first-ever championship and won his second Finals MVP.

Leonard averaged 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists during the regular season with the Raptors.

In seven games this season with the Clippers, Leonard has been stellar. He’s putting up 29.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 30.6 percent from beyond the arc and 86.8 percent from the free-throw line.
