As with any All-Star Game, there were bound to be a few snubs even with this year's new format. That said, the snub of L.A. Clippers shooting guard Lou Williams really struck a nerve among NBA fans.

At first, it seemed as if Williams was also disgruntled with being snubbed. However, he made it clear on his official Twitter count that there are no hard feelings with not being selected to the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.

Y’all talking to a guy that’s been coming off the bench 7 plus years. Lol i ain’t hurt about no all star snub. It’s dope to be in the conversation. I wanted it just to represent the underdogs. Not for validation.

The 2017-18 NBA season got off to a slow start for Williams until the Clippers' backcourt suffered a barrage of injuries. As a result, the former Sixth Man of the Year award winner took on a central role in Los Angeles' offense. It was then that he started to emerge as a prime darkhorse to be selected for this year's All-Star Game.

When it comes to backing Williams' bid, look no further than the numbers he has put up this season. He is currently averaging 23.6 points, 5.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. More importantly, he has managed to lead the Clippers back into playoff contention for the powerhouse Western Conference.

It is easily understandable by why Williams and some fans of the NBA were upset with his snub. Fortunately, he will still be a part of this year's festivities in Staples Center as a participant of the NBA Skills Challenge.
