Ice in so many veins.
The L.A. Clippers escaped with a win Saturday afternoon over the Washington Wizards, thanks largely to the clutch shooting of Lou Williams.
Williams, with just eight seconds left to go in the game and the Clippers down two, had the ball at the top of the key and dribbled left before pulling for a three-pointer. It hit nothing but net, and the Clippers won 113-112.
Williams, who normally is a bench player but has to start because of injuries, scored a huge 35 points in the game and dished eight assists.
Williams has been a clutch player all of his career and is a previous winner for the Sixth Man of the Year Award. He's playing for the Clippers as a result of a trade with the Rockets during the offseason.
But Williams has continued his otherworldly offensive play with the Clippers, routinely putting up big numbers during this recent stretch with the Clippers.
And on Saturday, when the Clippers needed it most, he was there again to deliver the final blow to the Wizards, who had just made a basket in the previous possession to take the lead and almost win the game.
