With three of their starters expected test free agency next summer, the L.A. Clippers are pulling out all the stops to finally get over their playoff hump and win a championship this season. That being said, one thing certainly will need to improve to reach that goal – and team is currently exploring options to improve it. That weak point is the free-throw shooting of center DeAndre Jordan.

Looking to follow what the Detroit Pistons did earlier this year with Andre Drummond, the Clippers are considering using virtual reality to help their starting center be more efficient at the 15-foot line.

Jordan has been abysmal with his free-throws and is only averaging 42.5 percent in his career. Although he is currently shooting 52 percent for the season, which is the second-highest he's ever had, it's still a far cry from being reliable. He is still being fouled intentionally and becomes a liability for the team especially during close games.

VR has helped improve Drummond's percentage this year from 35.5 to 47.3 percent and the Clippers are hoping it will do the same for their 6-foot-11 big man. If he increases his free-throw success rate to around 60-65 percent, it will make opposing coaches think twice about hacking him and will not force Doc Rivers to remove him from the court.

It would also mean higher scoring numbers for him which will definitely be beneficial for the Clippers. Should he be successful with his goal, he will solidify the claim of many that he is one of the best centers in the NBA today.
