The TCU Horned Frogs made only two NCAA Tournaments in the 35 seasons which immediately preceded coach Jamie Dixon's arrival in Fort Worth. They are about to make a second NCAA Tournament this year, as college basketball odds experts know. TCU locked up an NCAA bid with wins over Texas Tech and Kansas over the past several days. The win over Kansas occurred just two days ago. Dixon continues to show how good a coach he is, and why Pittsburgh is in such bad shape as a consequence of its failure to retain him several years ago.

When thinking about a TCU Kansas prediction, don't assume the Jayhawks will win this rematch. Sure, Kansas should be favored to win at home, but TCU beat Kansas by 10 points (74-64) on Tuesday while making only 3 of 15 3-point shots. Imagine what can happen if TCU actually makes a few 3-pointers in this game. Kansas would have to work very hard to keep pace with the Frogs.

The other really eye-popping aspect of TCU's win over Kansas on Tuesday was the Frogs' ability to hammer the Jayhawks on the offensive glass. TCU grabbed 19 offensive rebounds, which is a stunning statistic against an opponent which is likely to get a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Teams rarely outhustle Kansas the way TCU did. That's something to keep in mind when formulating a TCU Kansas pick.

Kansas might have been mentally drained against TCU due to the fact that it played a punishing game at Baylor on Saturday, but if you acknowledge that KU was mentally weary, the fact that the Jayhawks are playing yet another game on Thursday doesn't guarantee they will be rejuvenated. The Jayhawks could be wearing down in the midst of makeup games at the end of their regular season. There is a lot to process when looking at this game.

Why TCU Could Cover the Spread

The spread is a whopping 12 points, even though TCU won by 10 on Tuesday. Is there really going to be a 22-point shift in this game, especially since TCU is likely to shoot better, not worse, from 3-point range compared to Tuesday?

Why Kansas Could Cover the Spread

The Jayhawks are going to be very mad after their two straight losses. They are at home. TCU is not likely to beat them on the offensive glass. Kansas can certainly create a significant change from Tuesday and cover the spread.

Final TCU-Kansas Prediction & Pick

The 12-point spread is a lot, considering how well TCU is playing right now and how poorly Kansas is performing at the moment. Kansas should win outright, but the Jayhawks do not deserve to be favored by 12 over a TCU team which is confident and getting hot at the right time of year. As long as TCU shoots reasonably well from 3-point range (above 30 percent), this game should be decided by single digits.

Final TCU-Kansas Pick: TCU +12
