The UCLA Bruins are set to face the Oregon Ducks. Check out our college basketball odds series, which includes our UCLA Oregon prediction, odds, and pick.

The UCLA Bruins aren't at full strength. Jaime Jaquez, Jr. has been dealing with a nagging ankle injury, and if he's not fully right, the Bruins aren't at their very best. It should be noted, however, as college basketball odds experts would tell you, that UCLA can still play well without Jaquez. David Singleton and Jules Bernard give the Bruins considerable depth, and they helped the team beat Arizona State on Monday night, part of a three-game winning streak for UCLA after its Feb. 12 loss to USC.

The Bruins have one of the deeper benches in the Pac-12 and have options for coach Mick Cronin if certain lineup combinations aren't giving him exactly what he wants. Cronin's substitution patterns have been a point of discussion for much of the season, often focusing on the use of Myles Johnson relative to big man Cody Riley. With Jaquez not 100 percent, the Bruins' other role players come into focus for anyone thinking about a UCLA Oregon prediction.

UCLA is a fascinating team, but Oregon is even more mysterious. The Ducks have lost home games to Arizona State, Colorado, and California this season. They lost at Stanford and struggled at Utah, and last week, they got blown out by Arizona State, meaning they were swept by the Sun Devils this season. Oregon has served up a lot of ugly performances. With that in mind, it seemed highly unlikely they could stand toe to toe with No. 2 Arizona in Tucson, but that's exactly what they did this past Saturday. They went punch for punch with the Wildcats, who are likely to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Oregon looked like an NCAA Tournament team, but because it lost the game (84-81), UO missed a huge chance to boost its at-large resume. That loss makes this game against the Bruins even bigger for the Ducks. Keep that point in mind if you are considering a UCLA Oregon pick.

Why UCLA Could Cover the Spread

The Bruins lost to Oregon a month ago when no fans were allowed inside Pauley Pavilion due to COVID-19 policies in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. The Bruins were coming off their COVID-19 pause. Several weeks later, they figure to be a lot less rusty and know they can play top-tier defense even without Jaime Jaquez. They can bottle up an Oregon offense which has not been very dependable this season.

Why Oregon Could Cover the Spread

The Ducks are desperate, they're at home, and after seeing them play Arizona close for 40 minutes — at one point, Oregon led by 12 — it's clear this team has the talent to play with anyone in the country. If that Oregon team from Saturday in Tucson shows up for this game in Eugene, the Ducks will definitely cover the spread.

Final UCLA-Oregon Prediction & Pick

The Oregon team which played Arizona tough will emerge in this game. If you are convinced that will happen, you should be all over Oregon, getting a few points at home. The Ducks will win outright if they play up to their capabilities.

Final UCLA-Oregon Pick: Oregon +3
