Why Auburn Could Cover The Spread

Auburn-LSU is seemingly always a close game. Auburn has had an up-and-down start to their season, with a 28-20 road loss to Penn State being their only defeat so far this season. Georgia State surprisingly gave the Tigers a fight last week, but Auburn was able to pull out the win late. Bo Nix has been inconsistent this season but Auburn features one of the better running attacks in the country as they average 257 yards per game on the ground.

LSU's rush defense has struggled a bit thus far in 2021, allowing over 100 yards rushing per game. The LSU pass rush however has 20 sacks already this season, leading all of college football. Auburn should lean on their rushing attack if they want a win come Saturday.

Why LSU Could Cover The Spread

A night game in Baton Rouge is never an easy obstacle for opponents. The LSU crowd will be rocking, and Auburn quarterback Bo Nix has been mistake prone through his career. He hasn't throw an interception yet in 2021, but he hasn't exactly looked polished either. LSU should be able to feed off their home crowd and generate stops with their crowd noise and talented defense. Quarterback Max Johnson fueled the Tigers to a road victory vs. Mississipi State last week, and he should be to make enough plays to take home another victory this week. LSU's top ranked pass rush could help them to another victory this weekend.

Final Auburn-LSU Prediction & Pick

LSU is hard to pick against at -3 on their home field. They covered last week on the road vs. Mississippi State, and could be in position to do so again this weekend. Nix has struggled at times over his career for Auburn, and did not look sharp in last week's game vs. Georgia State. Back LSU, as Death Valley has been a tough place to play to say the least for opponents over the years.
