The Colorado football program started the 2023-24 season hot but has now lost three games as the middle of the season approaches. All three of their losses came in conference play, as they sit towards the bottom half of the Pac-12. In spite of this, the Buffaloes star pairing of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter have had impressive individual seasons. The duo has even gone as far as comparing themselves to LeBron James and Dwayne Wade.

Are Colorado football's stars the D-Wade and LeBron James of college football?

In a recent X (Twitter) post, the star duo talked about who they would be as NBA players. The duo said they were similar to the legendary LeBron James-Dwayne Wade pairing. They even brought Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson into the conversation.

Is this an accurate take? Compared to the Buffaloes' individual play from the 2022-23 season, Sanders and Hunters offer refreshing stardom.

So far, Shedeur Sanders has racked up 2,420 yards and 21 touchdowns in seven games as the Colorado football QB. He possesses a QBR of 72.4, which is good for 30th in the country, per ESPN. In Colorado's recent game, the 21-year-old threw for a whopping 400 yards and 5 TDs. Travis Hunter is impressive as well.

What makes Hunter special is his two-way ability. As a cornerback, Hunter has 11 solo tackles, one interception, and two passes defended. Meanwhile, Hunter averages 12.2 yards per play as a receiver for the Buffaloes' offense.

While the star Colorado pairing still has much to prove, their self-proclaimed NBA comparisons offer perspective into how talented they are.
