In recent news, Indianapolis Colts‘ quarterback Carson Wentz has fallen to injury and could miss some time. This has derailed the Colts training camp so far, as backup Jacob Eason slips into the starting role for now. According to Adam Schefter, Wentz “is out indefinitely as he undergoes further testing on a foot injury that he suffered at the end of Thursday's practice.”

Although Colts fans are in disarray over the troubling news coming out of Indianapolis, it seems former starting punter Pat McAfee thinks he could be the answer to their woes. In a hilarious video McAfee and his team made, he makes a quick pitch as to why the Colts should invest in him to compete at quarterback.

The hype music, the throw, the American flag… What's not to love about this clip? Everything about this video screams “AMERICA” right in your face. What's most impressive is that McAfee shows off his stellar accuracy by nailing a beer can from (maybe) 10 yards away. Either way, the Colts are dealing with a quarterback issue and McAfee delivers some (not so compelling) footage as to why he should play.

The clip is hilarious, but the Colts likely won't find it too amusing. As Schefter reported, Jacob Eason is taking reps for the first time while Sam Ellinger has begun playing with the second team.

We'll see how this plays out, as Carson Wentz and the Colts await to hear how long he'll be sidelined for. If he's forced to miss time, Indianapolis could be in for a rough start to the season. The Colts' first five games of the season are against the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins, and Baltimore Ravens. Each of those teams finished the year with a winning record, with four of them making the postseason as well.
