The Indianapolis Colts have not stated they are going to seek alternatives to Jacoby Brissett at the quarterback position, but the rumors are swirling nonetheless.

Indy has been given the best odds to land Jacksonville Jaguars signal-caller Nick Foles in a potential trade, per SportsLine:

Colts owner Jim Irsay said he believes in Brissett's ability to lead the team moving forward, but he also said the team would consider a myriad of options (via Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports):

“I can't talk about any specific player. I will say that all options are open,” Colts owner Jim Irsay said in a press conference Sunday, via Colts writer Andrew Walker. “All options are on the table. I've never quite been in a year when this was so unusual, if you will.”

Brissett was forced into the starting role when Andrew Luck suddenly retired last August. While he showed flashes of brilliance, Brissett averaged just 6.6. yards gained per pass attempt, finishing the year with a 7-8 record in 15 starts.

Meanwhile, the Jags are also mulling their options at the quarterback spot after rookie Gardner Minshew performed well with Foles out for most of the year due to injury.

Jacksonville signed Foles to a four-year, $88 million deal (with $45 million guaranteed) last Spring, but Foles suffered a broken clavicle in Week 1 and made just four starts in total.

Though Foles might be an upgrade for the Colts, they could be wary of his contract, especially given general manager Chris Ballard's hints suggesting the team would not add a quarterback via free agency.

Nevertheless, oddsmakers have tabbed the Colts as the leading candidates to land Foles.
