The Indianapolis Colts currently don’t have a star-quality workhorse back on their roster heading into this season. But that could change in a big way next year.

The online sportsbook Bovada has installed the Colts as the favorites to land superstar running back Le’Veon Bell by Week 1 of the 2019 season.

The Colts are currently priced at +375. They are followed by the Jets are and Steelers, who are both at +400.

The Browns (+500), Lions (+550), Texans (+600), Raiders (+1000), Cardinals (+1200), and Bills (+1500) round out the top nine teams.

The Colts could certainly use a back of Bell’s terrific caliber, especially given their current backfield options. With the departure of Frank Gore, they now have second-year player Marlon Mack set to be their premier back, with Branden Oliver, Robert Turbin, Christine Michael, Josh Ferguson, and rookies Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins vying for carries behind him.

The Jets are in a somewhat similar boat, with Isaiah Crowell, Bilal Powell, Thomas Rawls, and Elijah McGuire currently roaming their backfield.

As for the Steelers, it’s a bit surprising that they remain such big favorites to retain Bell’s services. This despite Bell’s agent saying that this upcoming season is likely the Steelers star’s last in Pittsburgh after they once again failed to come to terms on a long-term deal.

It remains to be seen whether Colts owner Jim Irsay will be ready to hand Bell the massive contract the Steelers were unwilling to give. Oddsmakers seem to believe so, which means they should be a team to take a close look at next offseason.
