The Indianapolis Colts may be inclined to start Jacoby Brissett under center to begin the regular season. Eric Ebron is a fan of Brissett's and believes that he could help the team win games if need be.

“Jacoby did the same thing last year. I’ve only been here for two years and this is how it’s been. He has every right to have all the confidence in the world. He has every right to continue to play the way he’s playing and stick to his game. I tell him every time we go out there that we’re going to make plays for you. You just have to trust us, trust the play call and then go from there.”

At this current moment, Andrew Luck is still nursing a calf and ankle injury that has sidelined him for the majority of the Colts' offseason programs and into training camp. Therefore, the clock is ticking for Luck to recover and get into the groove of playing again.

If Luck is unable to suit up in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers, then Brissett will be tasked with the starting duties. Brissett is familiar with the responsibility of stepping in for Luck after the Colts' franchise quarterback missed the entire 2017 season due to a shoulder injury.

During that season, Brissett started in 15 games and amassed 3,098 yards, 13 touchdowns, and seven touchdowns through the air. He also tacked on 260 yards and four touchdowns with his legs.

With the uncertainty surrounding Luck's mysterious injury, the coaching staff and players may need to rely on Brissett once more.
