Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard has been impressed with the way Jacoby Brissett has handled himself since taking over for Andrew Luck as the teams starting quarterback. The Colts sit with a 2-2 record, but with the play of Brissett, the team probably should be 4-0.

“He prepares — he's always prepared like the starter,” Ballard said via NFL.com. “And I remember saying this during Andrew's (Luck's) press conference when he retired that, look, Jacoby won't flinch. And he hasn't flinched. He's played really good football — he's played winning football for us each and every week.”

The Colts are coming off a 31-24 loss to the Oakland Raiders in their last game and they really missed T.Y Hilton, who has become a favorite target of Brissett. So far this season, Brissett has thrown for 911 yards, 1o touchdowns, and two interceptions.

The Colts traded for Brissett following his rookie season in 2016 and Ballard said he hasn't changed one bit. Some players change when they are given more responsibility, but Ballard said Brissett hasn't.

“Jacoby, he's the same guy he was since the first day we traded for him,” Ballard said. “Somebody asked me a question today in my office about Jacoby and his leadership, and I said, ‘Look, what makes him really special is he's authentic, he's real and he's the same guy every day — and he's been that way since the day he walked in this building.'”

The Colts take on the Chiefs on Sunday night football and if they want to come out with a big victory, Brissett is going to need to have a big game.
