Despite the fact that he finished his illustrious NFL playing career as a member of the Denver Broncos, future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning remains an Indianapolis Colts legend. With the Colts unexpectedly encountering a breakout campaign in 2018-19, Manning recently returned to the fold himself en route to commenting on all things Colts and Indianapolis during a recent radio interview.

Standing out the most, Manning made a point to mention how proud he was to both play and live in Indianapolis.

“Always took pride in playing here and living here,” Manning told 1070 The Fan. “It really has been amazing to see the development of this city, the growth and how it’s changed and how the culture has changed, the restaurants, the museums and the major sporting events. Then to also see the passion of these Colts fans. It truly is a football town. It was fun to witness that and to be a part of it.”

Manning also took some time to comment on the play of current Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, who led Indianapolis back to the postseason in 2018-19.

“It’s hard to believe that he really missed the past two years essentially with an injury,” Manning said. “You thought there would be some rust in there somewhere. I know he probably talked about feeling like there was, but you sure didn’t see it, making all the throws, getting the ball to different playmakers, spreading the ball around, teams playing the pass, opens up a lot of run plays, what a great luxury that is to have him in there and have that threat of the big play and it opens up the opportunity for other players.”
