The entire sports world was shocked on Saturday night when Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck retired. This hit a lot of people hard, but no one harder than his teammates.

T.Y. Hilton went to Twitter to address the situation, and he's understandably emotional.

T.Y Hilton and Andrew Luck had a special connection on the field. Both made each other better, and both were stars on the field with what appears to be a fantastic relationship off it.

Also, not only does Hilton get emotional – he gets you emotional with his words. That's some strong stuff right there. It's obvious he cares about Luck deeply and will miss having him in the locker room.

In their time together on the field, they put up some massive numbers. All of Hilton's best seasons are when Luck was his quarterback – that's no mistake. Luck was always able to find Hilton – who was burning past the defenders.

They always seemed to be on the same page as well. Countless times did Luck make the perfect pass as Hilton made a cut in his route – creating a big play.

Those days are over now, though. Hilton's still got all the beautiful memories, and clearly, he's going to be thinking about them a lot.

That's what makes this so difficult for the players, though. Hilton doesn't have much time to think about the retirement. He's got a season starting in mere days, and the Colts will be counting on him.

With Jacoby Brissett now at quarterback, it will be interesting to see what T.Y. Hilton can do. Whatever it is that he does, this season's for number 12 – his best friend, Andrew Luck.
