The Dallas Cowboys have been a mess in 2020. Ever since Dak Prescott’s season-ending injury, things have gotten even worse for America’s team.

Reserve quarterback Garrett Gilbert emerged as a bright spot to the point chatter started about if he should be the starter moving forward.

On the daily Locked On Cowboys podcast, hosts Marcus Mosher and Landon McCool discuss what it would mean for the Dallas Cowboys to continue the season with Andy Dalton as their quarterback.

McCool: Do you stick with Andy Dalton after what you saw from Garrett Gilbert this past Sunday? My answer to that would be, it depends on what the goal is.

When I went back to watch the all-22 I was actually even more surprised by how well Garrett Gilbert played. I don’t know if you got a chance to see it yet, but the throw that he made to CeeDee Lamb at the end of the game was incredible. He got outside of the pocket, threw the ball across his body, over the top of a defender, and dropped it into a bucket to CeeDee Lamb. I don’t know if I have seen Andy Dalton make a play like that in a long long time.

I understand why the Cowboys probably will go back with Dalton. They want to give him his shot to prove that he’s still a competent quarterback, maybe he helps more with line calls and getting the ball out on time but if the goal here is to try to win games, I’m starting to wonder if Gilbert gives you a better chance to do that.
