Cooper was a non-factor throughout the game, only notching one reception for three yards. This is a shame for the the wideout who claimed that he has been trying to apply Sun Tzu’s Art of War to his game.
“That’s kind of like a creed for me,” Cooper said, per the Dallas Morning News. “It goes hand in hand with the way I run my routes, especially the double moves. If you can deceive the DB [defensive back] to really think you’re running a different route than you’re actually running, he’s going to fall for it every time.”
Unfortunately, Amari Cooper was not given time to apply what he learned; he was immediately taken off the field. The team will be hoping that he won’t have to miss much time for the Week 7 clash against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Meanwhile, Cowboy legend Tony Romo gave encouraging words to Cooper and the team after their loss to the Jets.
“It was tough, but you’re tied for the division, you’re 3-3. Yes, the sky is falling, everything is going on, you can’t win. They just have to get off to a little bit better starts, and find their identity a little bit. They started to in that second half.”
