After the Dallas Cowboys pulled off a shocking win against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football, team owner Jerry Jones praised head coach Jason Garrett. Well, sort of.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Jones stated after Thursday night's victory, “Well, he’s won a big game tonight. I’ll just leave it at that. He won a big game tonight.”

After being questioned on his rather dreary praise for Garrett, Jones responded:

“What? I’m not. Give him everything you should give him for having just beaten the top-rated team in the NFL. You’re the wordsmith. Give it to him. I’m serious. Give it to him, yes. Because we know how tough it is when it goes the other way. But give that to him, for sure.”

The fact remains the Cowboys look like the frontrunners to find themselves at the top of the NFC East when the season comes to a conclusion. The Redskins have lost starting quarterback Alex Smith for the season, the Eagles appear to be feeling that Super Bowl hangover well into the season, and the Giants are doing everything they can to lose games this season.

The Cowboys have won four straight games, but their schedule going forward doesn't get easier. Dallas faces off against Philadelphia next week and then they face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15. The Eagles are their own worst enemies at this point, but can show flashes of brilliance as they did last season. The Colts have now won five straight games after defeating Miami last week.

Garrett's job appears to be safe for now, but Jones' lack of excitement on the subject leaves a lot to be desired in terms of certainty.
