It's been a great week for the Dallas Cowboys. Not only did they get an exciting Thursday Night Football win over the Seattle Seahawks, but their biggest division rival — the Philadelphia Eagles — lost. The Cowboys will now get to face the Eagles at home with extra rest, and a chance to take the division lead.

As the regular season comes to a close over the next month, Dallas is embracing the challenge going into the playoffs. Though the Cowboys have been criticized for their lack of playoff success since the 1990s, coach Mike McCarthy has them ready for the upcoming stretch.

“I really do like the stretch that we're getting ready to be on,” said McCarthy. “When you look at the teams that we're getting ready to line up against and, obviously, Philadelphia is all that matters right now — this is an excellent opportunity for us to play in playoff-type games without playoff consequences,” via Patrik Walker of the Cowboys official website.

“I think that serves us very well because December football is something I've personally always enjoyed, and I think it's a great indication of where you are as a team and what you need to do to get into the playoffs, and to be ready for the playoffs. We're looking forward to it.”

The Cowboys are on a four-game winning streak and have won six out of their last seven games. However, their biggest challenge is coming up this month with a four-game stretch versus contenders with matchups against the Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions. Dallas will need Mike McCarthy's attitude to come out of these games with a winning record.
