It didn't take long for Craig Kimbrel to make his debut with the Chicago Cubs. After being called up for the final game of the Cubs' series against the Atlanta Braves at Wrigley Field, Kimbrel made an immediate impact. He came into the game in the ninth inning and recorded his first save with the team to preserve a 9-7 victory.

Kimbrel entered the game to an absolutely raucous crowd, who have been waiting to see him play for weeks since he signed. He didn't disappoint. Take a look at the crowd reaction to Kimbrel entering the game for yourself.

While it wasn't the cleanest save, Kimbrel still got the job done. He even caught Brian McCann looking on a called strike three that had the veteran catcher heated. Chicago fans could not have enjoyed that moment more.

After a double from Ronald Acuna Jr. and a walk, Kimbrel was able to get the final out of the game against Braves' star Freddie Freeman. It was a close play down the first base line, but Anthony Rizzo was able to gather the grounder and rush to the bag for a diving tag of first base.

Following the play from Rizzo, Kimbrel shared a hug with his new first baseman. It was a great moment to cap off a huge win for the Cubs.

Kimbrel finished the game with one inning pitched, a strikeout, a walk, one base hit allowed, and no runs.

Chicago has been searching for a long-term closer for a few years now. Kimbrel certainly offers them that with the three-year deal that he signed with the club. Now that his debut out of the way, things will calm down and Kimbrel can get back to being one of the elite closers in baseball history.
