Damian Lillard is currently in the middle of his four-year, $176,265,152 contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. And, he's expected to accept an impending two-year extension worth over $100 million this offseason.

However, according to recent rumors, Lillard is waiting to see what other offseason moves the Trail Blazers' front office makes before extending his contract any further. He's currently signed through the 2024-2025 season and will be an unrestricted free agent in the 2023 NBA Offseason.

Now, with Lillard's latest Instagram repost, Trail Blazers fans are assuming the worst. He shared a post from Sheer Laurel Promotions, a free promotional business helping small businesses build their clientele and following. The 30-second video discusses loyalty and its inevitable expiration.

“Loyalty has an expiration date. The problem is, when you're the nice person, your loyalty lasts far longer to certain people than it should. Because their loyalty to you has been expired. But you, being the good person, you hang onto friendships and become forgiving far longer than you really should be.”

“Hard truth. Feed em with a slingshot,” Lillard captioned the video.

This could be 100% unrelated to Lillard's relationship with the Trail Blazers. But, it could also be directly correlated to his contract situation. After all, the rumors surrounding his negotiations in Portland surfaced Friday, just a day before he reposted the video. The original video was posted three weeks prior.

This isn't the first time Lillard has sparked conversations through social media posts this offseason. Check out this edit of him alongside Kevin Durant in a Trail Blazers jersey.
