Dávid Julián Dobrík was born on July 23, 1996 in Košice, Slovakia. When he was six years old, his family moved to Vernon Hills, Ohio. There, he attended high school at Vernon Hills High School where he played tennis. He qualified for the 2014 Boys Tennis State Tournament and he finished in 3rd place in the doubles tournament.
After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles with three friends in order to pursue his passion. However, they struggled to survive in the beginning.
