The Los Angeles Dodgers stayed scorching hot with their 7-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Monday. The Braves and Dodgers would be an interesting enough series alone, but even more eyes were on it because it was the first time former Brave Freddie Freeman was facing his old team. For Freeman, it was an emotional experience. He said his emotions were all over the place heading into the game. So when he homered in his first at-bat against Atlanta, you can only imagine how Freddie Freeman felt.

Freddie Freeman discussed his emotions prior the game.

“Obviously, there's just a lot of emotion going on right now. But a lot of good emotion.”

He later talked about all of the storylines of his first matchup against Atlanta.

“I know there's storylines, and everyone wants to run and say this and that, but the only storyline today was I was just happy to see my friends again.”

Freeman was truly happy to see his former team.

Braves closer Kenley Jansen made his return to LA as well. Although it was overshadowed by Freeman, the Dodgers still honored Jansen with a tribute and he discussed his return to Dodger Stadium.

“Growing up in baseball, playing for one team is like leaving your parents to go to college or whatever you want to call it. It was exciting to see what the future held, being on a new team, and also it was very emotional.”

Kenley Jansen and Freddie Freeman both meant a lot to their former organizations. But they now both have their sights set on bringing a World Series championship to their new teams.
